Position: Intern for Development Team

Purpose:

• To provide support to the Development Team with fundraising, research, public relations and event planning.

Accountabilities:

• Research opportunities on donations and grants
• Work within specific Boston communities to promote and recruit girls for Girl Scouts
• Participate in a variety of departmental meetings to gain a better understanding of the operations of a girl serving non-profit organization
• Assist Public Relations Manager in drafting written material and following-up with media
• Support with event logistics for major events

Qualifications:

• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrates ability in planning, organizing and implementing plans for events
• Willing and able to travel within the Patriots’ Trail jurisdiction

Timeframe:

• Unpaid internship through December 2006 or June 2007
