Cookie Info for Customers

The 2008 cookie sale is over. Thank you for supporting the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.

Girl Scouts begin taking orders in your community in January. They set up Booth Sales in local markets, shopping centers, community buildings, and transportation sites December through April.

*** For the safety and security of the girls who are selling cookies, Girl Scout Cookies are not available for purchase  online. (policy of Girl Scouts of the USA)***

The Cookie Sale is Girl Scouting’s single largest program activity and the public’s most recognizable image of Girl Scouting. All registered Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts and all Girl Scouts 11-17 are eligible to participate in the annual sale. While selling cookies, girls from across the council are learning life skills including:

• Leadership
• Entrepreneurship
• Decision making
• Goal-setting
• Business skills
• Money management
• Planning
• Marketing
• Responsibility
• Self-confidence
• Communication and Public Speaking Skills
• Teamwork
• Philanthropy and community service

The sale of these cookies also generates revenue for the troops and our local council to support quality Girl Scout programs.

Your purchase helps the troops cover the costs of:

• their pins and badges
• program materials
• special activities

Cookie revenue helps the council:

• recruit and train volunteers
• support volunteers
• offer program activities
• maintain council properties
• offer diverse camping experiences
• offer financial aid to ensure that Girl Scouting is available to all girls, no matter their economic status
