Camp Wabasso

Camp Wabasso is 266 acres on Lake Blaisdell. The camp has a small waterfront, large playfield and is situated in a dense pine forest. Two adirondack shelters are available about a half a mile from main camp.

Cross-country ski equipment and snowshoe equipment is available for rental to groups with an adult who is experienced in teaching the fundamentals of the equipment. During spring and fall months, canoe rentals are available to troops who have a certified instructor/qualified leader with canoe certification (see p. 116 of Safety-Wise). Lodge

Winterized lodge. Top floor, Main floor, and Basement are separate rentals. Available September 1 - mid-June. Each floor has mattresses, electric stove, refrigerator, hot/cold water, flush toilets. Fireplace on Main floor and Basement. Showers on top floor.

Cabin Units

Available May 1-mid-June and September 1-mid-October. All units have mattresses, cots, running water, fire circle, and flush toilets. Four refrigerators in dining hall are shared with other units).

Platform Tent Units

Available May 1 - mid-June and September 1-mid-October. Algonquins and Tinuwen have mattresses, cots, flush toilets, running water, fire circle, and a large pavilion with two refrigerators (one for each unit).

Adirondacks (3 shelters, capacity 15) flush toilets 100 yards away, no electricity, parking 1/2 mile away, water 100 yards away, no phone.

Available September 1-mid-June. The Old Infirmary, Christa McAuliffe's favorite building at Camp Wabasso, has been restored, refurnished, and winterized. It was renamed Christa's House and rededicated on August 7, 1988. Christa's House has a living room, glass enclosed porch, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and program library displaying Christa's Girl Scout memorabilia. Priority is given to Cadettes, Seniors, Adults, and older Juniors if available.
