Scout Houses

Patriots' Trail Scout Houses are located throughout the suburban Boston area and are available for day use or overnight camping. Generally located in residential areas, the Scout Houses are used for troop meetings by local Girl Scouts who have first priority.

To Make Reservations

A volunteer in each town keeps a reservation book and handles keys to the Scout House, so a separate registration procedure is used.

  1. Contact the Registrar, Outdoor Program & Services in the Boston Office (617-350-8300 x202) for the name and number of the contact person in each town, well in advance of your planned activities.
  2. After securing a date, complete a campsite reservation form and mail to Girl Scouts, Patriots' Trail Council, Inc., 95 Berkeley St, Boston, MA 02116, with full payment (MasterCard/VISA or check). If paying by check, send separate checks for damage deposit and site fees, payable to Girl Scouts, Patriots' Trail Council, Inc. For non-Patriots' Trail troops, please include a copy of your Council's Certificate of Liability Insurance for $1,000,000 with your reservation form.
  3. All reservations require a $25.00 refundable damage deposit. Submit as a separate check to be returned after your visit, providing no damage occurred and the premises are adequately cleaned. You may also submit credit card information that will be kept on file. We will inform you of any damage and cleaning fees before depositing your check or processing a charge to your credit card.
  4. A confirmation packet with directions and guidelines will be sent to you from the Boston office. Direct any questions regarding Scout House and obtaining keys to the contact person for the town.
  5. A completed Checkout List (included in your confirmation packet) and any keys must be returned to the town contact person.

Fees

Girls in the Scout House Service Unit may use the Scout House at no additional charge in return for regular service to the House. Other GSPTC troops, outside of the service unit, pay $10 per day for day use and $20 per night for overnight use. Girl Scouts outside Patriots' Trail Council pay $20.00 per day for day use and $40.00 per night for overnight use.

Remember

Your troop must meet all safety guidelines for trips away from home to use a Scout House, including qualified leaders, troop campers and first aiders. You MUST complete a Troop Activity Application form when using a Scout House outside your town and submit it to your Girl Scout Coordinator.
