Summer Camp FAQ

2008 Summer Camp Information and Registration is now available online.

What is the philosophy of Patriots' Trail's camps?

The philosophy at our camps is one of Girl/Adult Partnership. Shortly after your child arrives at camp, she will work with her staff and other girls in her group to determine what they will do while at camp.

Can non-Girl Scouts attend Girl Scouts of Eastern Mass day or resident camps?

Yes, of course!

Can my daughter be with her friend?

Girls like making new friends at camp, but if they want to be in the same unit with one friend, the two may register together as buddies.

Is transportation available?

Bus transportation is offered to and from all day camps at no additional cost. Bus service to and from resident camps will run from Boston, Waltham and Braintree for $40.00 each way. Buses may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.

What health and safety standards are followed at camp?

The American Camp Association accredits all of our camps. Camps comply with the health and safety regulations mandated by state and local officials. In addition, standards set by Girl Scouts of the USA are also a part of ensuring the safety of our campers.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts camps must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (105 CMR 430.000), and be licensed by the board of health of the town in which the camp is located. Information on 105 CMF 430.000 can be obtained at 617-938-6761. The resident camps locate in New Hampshire must comply with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Rules (Part Env-Ws 1120.00), and be licensed by the board of health of the town in which the camp is located. Information on Part Env-Ws 1120.00 can be obtained by calling 603-271-3503.

When does my child's health form need to be turned in?

Physical examinations (completed after September 1, 2006), camper information records and complete immunization forms must be on file at the Council Office for all campers by May 1, 2008.
