Family Partnership Campaign Ideas
Here are some ways YOUR Service Unit can help the Family Partnership Campaign! (And how Patriots' Trail will support you!)
Most Effective and Efficient Way to Run Family Partnership:
Simply ask families for an additional $5.00 at registration! Complete Family Partnership and Registration in one night!
Letter to Families: Write to your families explaining what activities your service unit will be participating in, and how their donation can directly support your Girl Scouts.
GSPTC Support: Patriots' Trail can help write the letter and can provide envelopes, postage and reply envelopes for donations.
Phone-a-thon: Get a group together, grab a pizza and call the families in your service unit to let them know how important Family Partnership is to their Girl Scout! Iin the past, this has proven to be very successful for many Patriots' Trail service units.
GSPTC Support: We can provide a script, a list of phone numbers for families of registered Girl Scouts in your service unit who have not already given and a letter, envelope and postage for follow up!
Service Unit Event: Hold a sock hop, square dance, an ice cream social or any other type of event with your families! All events should be family friendly and for the whole service unit. Please check with your membership services specialist to make sure events meet council requirements.
GSPTC Support: Patriots' Trail can provide a flyer to pass out to invite families to the event.
Multi-Service Unit Event: Partner with Patriots' Trail and other area service units for an event and split the proceeds! Possible events are mini-golf tournaments or "Cookie Creations", where local chefs whip up tasty desserts with Girl Scout cookies!
GSPTC Support: We can package the entire event so key volunteers from each community can run it smoothly. The council will partner with local service units on 3 of these events. Please check with your membership services specialist for more information.
"Friends Asking Friends" Online Giving: Don't have time to personally call or write your Girl Scout family and friends? Start a "Friends Asking Friends" webpage! From the GSPTC website, you can personalize your own giving website and send it out to all your friends and family asking for donations to Family Partnership.
GSPTC Support: We can walk you through the setup of the website and provide emails of families in your town. Please contact Katelyn Leonard, 617-482-1078 ext. 291 or kleonard@ptgirlscouts.org if you would like to start a "Friends Asking Friends" webpage.
Family Meeting: Let the families of your troop know ahead of time that you would like to meet with them for a quick 10 minutes to discuss Family Partnership at the drop off or pick up of a meeting. Take this time to explain the need for Family Partnership and how it will help your troop specifically.
GSPTC Support: Patriots' Trail can provide a script and giving envelopes.
