What is the Leading Women Awards Celebration?

Leading Women is our premier opportunity to celebrate outstanding women leaders in Boston and foster awareness of the initiatives of the Girl Scouts, Patriots’ Trail Council. As our major corporate fundraiser, Leading Women marks the beginning of programs and activities that provide opportunities for our honorees, their organizations and other community leaders to interact with girls who will benefit from their experience, insight, and financial support.

Who are the Leading Women?

Since 1992, 162 women and girls have been honored as Leading Women by Girl Scouts, Patriots’ Trail Council. They represent the diversity of leadership in the Boston community and promote inclusion and opportunity for girls and women. Over the years we have honored Olympians, entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors, philanthropists, CEOs and young women.

What is the goal of Leading Women?

The goal of Leading Women is to establish ongoing programming under our Girls To Women initiative. Girls and the issues they face evolve and change and the Girl Scout Movement evolves with them. We offer a variety of programs and opportunities that engage and challenge girls of every age. We help girls discover the doctor, the engineer, the mother and the friend they have inside. With more than 100 unique programs and activities, Patriots’ Trail encourages girls to sample everything from soccer and theater to engineering and television broadcasting.

When is the Leading Women Awards Breakfast?

The Leading Women Awards Celebration includes a diverse audience from major corporations, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies that gather to honor the year’s recipients. The awards breakfast to honor the Leading Women of 2007 will be held at The Westin Copley Place, on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 from 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
